Minutes of the League Meeting – 3^rd April 2023

Roll Call – The meeting held at the Barnsley Metrodome, Rigby Suite, the register was taken from the attendees of all clubs represented in the meeting. The following clubs were not in attendance therefore they will incur a fine as seen in the fines tariff in the League Handbook for no attendance at the League Meeting – South Hiendley, Staincross Rangers, Walton United and West Bretton Juniors.                                            

Minutes from meeting held on 6^th March 2023 was read out to all clubs present and accepted. Proposed – Penistone Church, Seconded - Hemsworth Miners.                                                                                         

Fines & Suspensions – Gavin confirmed no current league fines where outstanding however there was a suspension for an U12s player, the club has been informed and confirmed. There was also a withdrawal fine for an U11s team which is now due for payment, the club have also been informed.

DBS & Safeguarding – Gavin reminded all again there is an increase in Managers not having DBS & Safeguarding qualifications. Managers should not be in the technical areas or coaching teams without the relevant qualifications. Managers also need to ensure that they are completing the correct Safeguarding course. The correct course for completion by Managers/Coaches is Safeguarding for Children for anyone over the age of 18. Anyone waiting for their DBS can speak to Clare MacRory at SHCFA if any questions. The relevant links can be found on the League Website under Links. If anyone needs, there DBS verifying Gavin can verify them. Please contact Gavin to arrange an appointment, this will be during the day only on either Monday or Friday mornings. 

FA Club Accreditation - Gavin again reminded all clubs present of the FA Accreditation which has replaced the FA Charter Standard, this is a mandatory requirement for all Club and Teams for your Affiliations. If your club does not have this accreditation or are in the process of getting it, you will not be able to affiliate your Club and Teams or able to play in any league without the FA League Accreditation.

The Grassroots Football Awards – Reminder, nomination forms are available for the FA Grassroots Football Awards, they can be downloaded from the SHCFA website, this is an opportunity for you all to celebrate the people who make a difference, who put their heart and soul into football within our league. There are some amazing people who simply inspire us all that are simply not recognised. The closing date for any nomination is the 19^{th of} April, so come on get the nominations in.

Nomination Forms - If anyone is interested in joining the league management team, nomination forms were handed out to all club representatives in attendance at the meeting, also they are available from Gavin so you can put your name forward in readiness for the AGM in June. Forms should be submitted by April 30^th, 2023.

D1 League Entry forms 2023-2024 - League Club and Team entry forms for the 2023-2024 season were also handed out to all club representatives at tonight’s meeting. if you can arrange for this form to be returned to Gavin by the 30^th June 2023. 

Rule amendments – If anyone wishes to propose any rule changes to the league rules please put your proposal onto an email with the reasoning behind the proposal, or you simply want to propose any additional wording or even re-wording of the current rules also put this onto an email and forward onto the league secretary on or before the 30^thApril. The management team will then discuss them together with the CFA then put any changes to the member clubs to vote on at the League AGM. 

League division updates – Gavin ran through all remaining divisional fixtures in all the age groups. There are just a couple fixtures remaining to be played in the U10s, 12s and 13s, all will be completed by the 12^{th of} April. There will be no playoff games played in any of these age groups. The U12s and U13s age groups, we will be contacting all teams who finished as Champions and Runners Up to arrange pitch side presentations where possible.

Challenge Cup Draw - The Challenge Cups groups in all age groups U7s to U11s are now at the stage of concluding the group stages and ready to start the knockout stages. The 7s to 11s 1^st round and quarter finals were all drawn out during the meeting, dates for these rounds will commence from the 12^{th of} April. The draw for the 12s and 13s will be ready in a week’s time. All these games will be played to a finish on the day, no replays. The losing teams in these two rounds will move to the supplementary cup draw, games will commence hopefully from the 19^th or 23^rd April, again these will be played in a knockout format, games played to a finish, no replays. The winning teams will automatically progress to the semi-finals and finals accordingly. Final dates were read out to all present at the meeting as follows

20^th April - U13s Knockout Cup Final
30^th April - U7s, U8s, U9s and U10s Challenge Cup Finals
4^th May - U12s Knockout Cup Final
7^th May - U11s, U12s, U13s Challenge Cup Finals
11^th May - U11s Challenge Cup Final
14^th May - U7s,U8s,U9s,U10s and U11s Supplementary Cup Finals

AOB – There was no questions asked in AOB by any member club or team representative therefore the meeting was closed.

Next meeting will be the League AGM in June – date to be confirmed, venue will be – Barnsley Metrodome, Rigby Suite
