Roll Call - Following teams will incur a fine as seen in the fines tariff in the League Handbook for none attendance at the League Meeting – Frickley Athletic, South Hiendley & Upton United

Minutes from meeting held on 5th September 2022 was read out to all clubs present and accepted. Proposed – Hemsworth Miners Welfare, Seconded - Junior Tykes
An announcement was made advising all teams that Dot Cowdell has stepped down from her role as Under 7s and U13s registrar. Gavin thanked Dot for all her hard work and commitment given to the League over the past couple of years, Dot will be missed and is a huge loss to the League.

FA Fulltime & League website - The league website is continuously being developed and updated on a regular basis. All information that Managers need for match days and any other information that they require regarding the League can be found on the website, please use as your first port of call.
The FA asked the BDJFL management team to consider trialling the ‘No Heading’ campaign for U7-U12 this season. The league decided not to participate in the trial as there is still a lot of work and guidance still required by the FA for clarity.
Nathan Bachelor (National FA League Officer) has been working with the League and is part of the England Accredited FA team who is piloting a new initiative as to how they can support and work with Leagues. They are looking at how they can increase relationships, support, and guidance to Leagues. Gavin also advised that Club Secretaries & Club Welfare Officers should have received communication from the FA regarding the initiative “Kick it Out” which is in relation to tackling Discrimination and Bullying and promoting the awareness of the benefits of Equality, Inclusion, and Diversity with a clear understanding that football belongs to and should be enjoyed by anyone who wants to participate.

WhatsApp Groups - As a reminder, please only text between the times of 8am and 8.30pm. The Whats App groups should only be used for match information, for example, kick of times, fixtures updates, results and general enquiries, the groups are not to be used for any other issues causing unrest. These should be addressed in a private message to either the fixture secretary or any member of the league management team. Lately there has been a lot of sarcastic and undermining comments that can create friction and unnecessary negative comments. Question raised from the floor regarding the groups for the next phase of the season and how the groups were formed, and the decisions made reference the groupings: It was shared that the groupings were based on the position ranking of the teams, goals scored and results. All groups were split based on the results and positions. If a team has been placed in a group that is too high, it would be identified at the cup stage, and they would be dropped to a lower group. The League was advised by the FA that some of the groups had too many teams and it was advised that we create additional groups to reduce the number of teams within each group. It may seem that some teams have ‘jumped’ up or down two divisions in the groupings; the league had to increase the number of groups which makes it look like they have been placed too high/low, but they have not. The groups have been based on results and positioning. In the group stage, teams will play both home and away.

Q – Why weren’t Managers asked for their thoughts/opinions on the groupings prior to be formerly agreed?
A – We cannot please everyone and what may be good for one team, will not be for another team. It would be difficult to consult all Managers. If anyone would like to join the League committee and assist with the decision making, please speak to Gavin.

Q – Does the rule of no sarcastic and undermining comments apply to members of the League Management team
A – Yes it does. Gavin repeated he himself had made a comment previously and that he had apologised for a comment made immediately, but management committee members are not exempt from the rule.

Player Registrations - Karen advised Managers that she will send a WhatsApp message for new registrations to confirm that the player is ready to be processed. Once the message is received, please can Managers send the registration fee. Upon receipt of the payment, the player will be registered.
If any managers require their squad sheet printing and laminating, please speak to Karen.
Managers log on to WGS and add your photo. This will then show on the squad sheet. NB Managers will only show on the squad sheet if they have the required minimum qualifications (DBS & safeguarding). If Managers have not added their phot to WGS, they will need to obtain a Managers ID card from Karen.

DBS & Safeguarding - There is also an increase in Managers not having DBS & Safeguarding qualifications. Managers should not be in the technical areas or coaching without the relevant qualifications. The FA are increasing their visits to clubs on match day and /or training sessions and are in the processes of looking do be doing in house health checks. The FA also have created a new Safeguarding Unit based in Leeds who are making calls to Clubs and advising them that there are managers who have DBS and SAFEGUARDING Qualifications that are either due to expire or have expired and therefore should not be coaching etc. They can suspend a club if a manager does not have the minimum qualifications in place. Managers also need to ensure that they are completing the correct Safeguarding course. The correct course for completion is Safeguarding for Children. Anyone waiting for their DBS can speak to Clare MacRory if outstanding.

League Division & KO times - Kick off times must be communicated by Tuesday evening 8pm latest. As we have now entered the winter months, KO times must be between 9.30am & 2pm. It is important that KO times are communicated to the League in case either the League or the FA wish to visit Clubs and observe matches.
Three new teams have joined the League. 1 x U7 (Wombwell Town) and 2 x U8 (West Bretton & Wombwell Town).
One team has withdrawn from the league due to not having enough players – U13 Pinfold Pumas.
U13 are due to participate in the County Cup competition this weekend which is controlled by the County FA. Please can all Managers advise Gavin of their result.
Cup Formats will be introduced across the board and will commence from mid to late January.

Postponements & Relaxations – As there is no room to reschedule any future postponed games the Management Team have made the following decision. If you cannot play your Sunday fixture due to poor weather conditions then teams will be allowed to reschedule this match to be played either prior to the date given or will be extended to be played the midweek following the scheduled date up to the Saturday of that week, This must be agreed between both teams then your Registrar must be informed of the day and time agreed, The fixture will then be moved on both the FA Fulltime and the League Website by your registrar accordingly and the game will be expected to be played on that date. Failure to play the game either on the original date or the confirmed rescheduled date the game will be awarded as a draw. This decision has been made for several reasons, and not been taken lightly. We have scheduled in two cup competitions for all age groups which we are hoping we can fulfil, also several teams last season complained stating last season the number of midweek fixtures caused several problems with both player and parent availability, pitch markings and set up also caused teams/clubs problems with availability. See Rule DR6 - POWERS OF MANAGEMENT - The Officers of the Competition may appoint Management Team Members to sub-committees and delegate such of their powers, as they deem necessary. The Management Committee shall have power to deal only with matters within the Competition and not for any matters of misconduct that are under the jurisdiction of the Football Association or Affiliated Association. The Management Committee shall have powers to apply, act upon and enforce the Rules of the Competition and shall also have jurisdiction over all matters affecting the Competition.

Christmas Break - Last game before the Christmas break will be scheduled for Sunday 18th December with games resuming on Sunday 8th January 2023.

AOB
