BDJFL Minutes – Meeting 5th September 2022

Roll Call – Roll call was read out twice during the meeting, the following not in attendance, Frickley Athletic, South Kirkby United, and Upton United, all teams fined £25.00 in accordance with the fines tariff.

Minutes from the meeting held on the 1stAugust 2022 was sent out via email to all Club Secretaries and was read out to all during this meeting, - Proposed – Walton United, Seconded – Brierley Cubs.

Management Team, Estelle Ellis has decided to stand down from her role as U8s Registrar with immediate effect, we want to thank Estelle for the work she has done during her time with the league, Karen Parton will be trained up to take on this role within the next couple of weeks with the support initially from Gavin.

FA Fulltime - has been updated and integrated with the BDJFL Website, Gavin showed everyone present how easy it is to find your way around the league website and has asked all secretaries and managers to check their contact details, any amendments to let us know immediately so we can update them.

All fixtures are confirmed and showing in all the age groups as requested up to the end of October and early November.

We will not be using the Matchday App again this season, Gavin also spoke about the CSP Pitch finder App which is downloadable for free and is a great app to help go to those grounds you are not familiar with, all our clubs and pitches have been updated on here.

DBS & SafeguardingGavin showed all who are present where to find all the links on the league website and discussed all the relevant FA Online Safeguarding workshops available and how to book onto them. Both the FA and Gavin will be checking all managers etc qualifications are all up to date and showing on the wgs. Same applies to all associated have DBS information up to date as this is a legal requirement.

Gavin informed all Clubs to make sure all Managers and Assistants are on their FA WGS Portal and have current DBS and Safeguarding, both the CFA and the League, anyone who has not got these will need to book onto the online workshops immediately. Available Online Courses are available through the FA Boot room Links which can be found on either the SHCFA or BDJFL Websites.

Gavin also confirmed Re-Certification of Safeguarding your qualification is now only valid for two years, not three years. FA Workshops are available, see the links on the fa and CFA websites, these are also available in the Links Section on the BDJFL Website also.

Gavin also mentioned the new FA initiative for referees under the age of 18, wearing a distinctive yellow armband as a reminder to managers, team officials and parents that an official wearing the armband is aged 18 or under and is still subject to children’s safeguarding legislation.

We have two new clubs wanting to join the league, Silkstone Common Miners Welfare fc U10s and Askern Miners Welfare Fc U11s, all member clubs were asked if all happy for these clubs to enter by show of hands, no objection received and both clubs welcomed subject to affiliation and form submitted.

Reporting of results will be the responsibility of both managers, these must be sent into your registrars on the same day of your match before 5pm on a Sunday and 8.30pm if midweek. Managers should receive the FA SMS Email to send results automatically to fulltime.

Fixture relaxations will only be considered provided you submit a request via email to your registrar, you will need to give 28 day’s notice for consideration with the reason for your request, this will then be assessed by the management team, a decision will be made, and team/club will be informed of the decision asap.

Kick off times must be confirmed to the opposition team manager no later than by Tuesday evening before 8pm prior to the following Sunday’s fixture. Your age group registrar should also be notified of these times also, use the WhatsApp Groups accordingly.

KO times have altered slightly - Sept, Oct, March & April - 9.30 to 2.30pm. Nov, Dec, Jan & Feb - 9.30 to 2.00pm

U7s to U11s groups will be re-looked at following each team in each group played all teams once, groups will be updated.

WhatsApp groups are set up by all registrars to help everyone, please be mindful and respectful of comments made on these groups, positive match information and updates only please, any negative comments or issues other than, please contact your registrars or any member of the management team privately. Also be mindful to use the groups between the hours of 9am and 8pm daily only.

Reminder Development matches are no longer being encouraged/supported by the League as some teams have abused the development match and are playing players longer than the FA guidelines. If a team wishes to have a ‘development/friendly’ match after the league match, Managers will need to mutually agree this.

Pass back rule must be played in all affiliated league fixtures.

You can only play the squad size plus 5 subs as per FA guidelines.

Player registration – Karen advised the window for registrations opened in July. Any registrations after 3rd August will incur a £3 admin fee; an invoice will initially be sent out to all clubs prior to the league commencement date of the 11th September 2022, these invoices must be paid in full on or before Friday 16th September 2022. Any registrations following must be paid for prior to the registration of any player being approved.

Karen also informed all teams should print a Squad Sheet and laminated them accordingly, or contact her, she will print and laminate them and arrange a collection day and time.

These squad sheets and team sheets should be completed, and both shown to the opposition team PRIOR TO KICK-OFF AT ALL GAMES. Managers photos and info can also be added to the Squad Sheets.

Players can be registered or transferred up to the 28th February 2023 (transfers open from 1st October 2022)

U13s County Cup – preliminary and 1st Round games have been put back to start from Sunday 9th October, draw to be made by the CFA, we will await the draw before we look to alter any league fixtures scheduled for this date.

Technical areas are to be addressed, approx. 10m x 5m sections to be either white lined or coned areas, only affiliated registered coaches/assistants must always remain in this area during the games

Gavin reminded all clubs to make sure manager and assistants are all logged onto the clubs FA WGS Portal, anyone requiring Safeguarding or DBS renewals will need to book on the online workshops.
